Restore Your Smile With Durable Dental Bridges
A dental bridge is a procedure designed to replace one or more missing teeth. Unlike removable prosthetics, a dental bridge is permanently secured to the surrounding teeth, eliminating the need for removal and cleaning. Each bridge is custom-crafted to ensure a natural and realistic appearance. Typically, fixed bridges can last for many years before requiring a full replacement.
Why Do You Need a Dental Bridge?
If you're missing a tooth and prefer to avoid dental implant surgery or aren't a candidate for it, a dental bridge can be an excellent alternative. A bridge restores both the appearance and function of your smile, while also preventing surrounding teeth from shifting or overcrowding.
Who is a Candidate for a Dental Bridge?
Our dental team will evaluate your teeth to decide if a fixed bridge is the right solution for you. The bridge will be placed over two adjacent teeth for a secure and accurate fit. In cases where larger bridges may lack stability, we may recommend using implants for added support.
What Happens During the Dental Bridge Procedure?
To begin the procedure, we will apply a local anesthetic to numb the area in your mouth. Next, we will shape and file down the surrounding teeth to create space for the new fixed bridge. Impressions will be taken to create both a temporary and permanent bridge. After this, you will leave with a temporary bridge in place, and you'll return for a second appointment to have the permanent bridge installed. During the second visit, the temporary bridge will be removed, and the permanent one will be securely placed with a dental-grade adhesive. We will then polish the bridge and make any necessary adjustments. Finally, we’ll provide instructions on how to properly care for the bridge to ensure its longevity.
