What Are All-On-4 Implants?

The All-On-4® procedure, also referred to as "Teeth in a Day," provides a revolutionary solution for individuals dealing with extensive tooth decay, deteriorating dental work, or damaged teeth. This cutting-edge treatment enables the removal of remaining teeth, placement of implants, and the restoration of a fully functional smile all within a single day. Not only does it enhance the aesthetics of your smile, but it also boosts your self-assurance and overall quality of life.

Some advantages of the All-On-4® procedure include:

  • Dental implants offer a natural appearance that closely resembles real teeth in both look and texture.
  • Unlike dentures, dental implants are permanent and stay securely in place without the need for removal.
  • There are no long healing periods required with dental implants, allowing you to start using them right away.
  • Dental implants have an open palate design, which does not cover the roof of the mouth, enhancing comfort.
  • Dental implants provide superior chewing ability, offering the best chewing function among full-arch restoration options.
  • They are ideal for those with limited bone, making them perfect for individuals with insufficient bone for traditional implants.
  • Dental implants also improve food taste, allowing you to enjoy better taste sensation compared to traditional dentures.

How It Works

This process includes removing any remaining teeth, placing 4-6 implants per arch, and attaching a low-profile bridge to those implants. The implants are strategically positioned to avoid the sinuses, eliminating the need for expensive bone grafts and reducing healing time.

Dr. Maghazchi has improved the traditional All-On-4 procedure by personalizing it based on their expertise, ensuring better results for patients. At Smiland Dental in Pembroke Pines, FL, we assess each case carefully and customize our treatment to meet each patient's specific needs. Between four and six implants will be placed per arch, and temporary fixed bridges will be put in place while your implants fuse with the jawbone and your mouth heals.

After the healing process is finished, Dr. Maghazchi and our lab technician will create your final set of teeth using zirconia. Zirconia is much stronger than the typical acrylic denture teeth used in other practices. This material also provides a more natural appearance, is more hygienic, and resists staining. As a result, your new teeth will not only last longer but will also look better compared to the acrylic/titanium hybrid bridges commonly used elsewhere.

Am I a Candidate?

Many patients, even those previously deemed ineligible for dental implants due to insufficient bone, can still undergo the procedure. By utilizing a combination of straight and angled implants, Dr. Maghazchi can avoid the sinuses and utilize the strongest bone available. This approach often eliminates the need for costly and time-consuming sinus augmentation bone grafts. During your complimentary consultation at Smiland Dental in Pembroke Pines, FL, Dr. Maghazchi will conduct a comprehensive evaluation to determine if the All-On-4 procedure, also known as 'Teeth in a Day,' is the best option for you.

All-On-4 Procedure Timeline

The process typically lasts 4-6 hours, depending on whether you are getting treatment for one arch (upper or lower) or both arches (full mouth). Once you leave our office, your temporary bridge(s) will be securely attached to your new implants. You will wear these temporary bridge(s) for approximately 4 months to allow for integration with the bone and healing of your jaws and gums before we create your final bridge(s). This healing period ensures the best fit for your final bridges.

After the healing period, we will start making your final bridge(s). This will involve several appointments over a 5-6 week period, during which you will work with us to design the smile you desire for your permanent teeth.

1

Mouth Impressions

The lab utilizes these tools to fabricate your temporary implant bridge(s). If you are missing all or most of the teeth in the treated arch, Dr. Maghazchi may recommend a wax try-in. This is a prototype of your temporary implant bridge that will be used to evaluate bite alignment, aesthetics, and other factors to guarantee optimal fit and appearance.
2

Procedure

The process involves extracting any necessary teeth, inserting implants, and attaching temporary implant bridges. This procedure usually lasts between 4 to 7 hours.
3

Post Op #1

After the procedure, we will assess your healing progress and address any questions you may have.
4

Post Op #2

At the 3-week post-procedure appointment, sutures will be removed, healing will be checked, and patients will usually be given the green light to start using a water flosser/WaterPik.
5

Impressions for Final Teeth

At the 4-month mark post-procedure, it is important to assess the healing progress, confirm the complete integration of implants, and initiate the fabrication of your final bridge(s).
6

Try in

Within 5-10 days of impressions, we will create a mock-up of your final teeth for you to review. In certain situations, multiple wax try-ins may be necessary. Our goal is to guarantee your satisfaction with the wax try-ins before moving forward with processing. Once the final product is processed, no alterations can be made. If adjustments are desired for your bridge(s) after approval and fabrication, a full-cost remake charge will be incurred.
7

Seat Final Teeth

Once you approve your wax try-in(s), it usually takes 4-6 weeks for your bridge(s) to be prepared for seating.
